Free Comic Book Day is tomorrow (May 1) all across the USA. To celebrate the event I'll be signing, sketching, and hanging at Walley’s Pop Comics for a few hours, getting in around 11am. I'm told there might be FREE pizza, ice cream & beer. Here's the location:
Walley’s Pop Comics 711 Jefferson Hwy, suite 7 Baton Rouge, Louisiana ( map)
Here's some info on Free Comic Book Day:
Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. * Check with your local shop for their participation and rules.

The Luke McBain comic gets covered by AP News! |
TRACE ADKINS - COMIC BOOK
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Trace Adkins becomes a comic book action hero today. The first Luke McBain comic is now available. Eventually, there will be four issues. Luke McBain was inspired by Adkins. In the first issue McBain returns to his Louisiana hometown after 14 years in prison. He had taken the fall for a crime he didn't commit. Not everyone's happy to have him back, especially his younger brother, Paul, who runs the family business.

Couple of quick things:
I've been working on a project called McBain with David Tischman, we got some coverage from USAToday.
Josh Fialkov and I are working on a new PUNKS story. Here's a hint of what's to come.
I'm not happy with any of the blog systems, so I'll probably migrate that stuff into my website, and I'm also reworking the website design a bit. More on that soon.
Still doing little updates on Twitter and Facebook. Check those links and more in the right column -> |

I've been friends with Josh Medors and Andrew Mangum for a long time. I recently participated in a comic anthology called "Pulp Tales" to help get a little cash to Josh Medors. I recently found out Andrew Mangum is now fighting a similar battle. If any of you are able to help out with donations, even a small amount, you'd be helping a lot. Please take a moment to read the email below from Dave Kopecki, he's helping to coordinate the effort. |

Some things you may have missed from Comic-Con:
Here's a sneak peek at a "McBain" page from the new miniseries at 12 GAUGE COMICS with writer David Tischman.
I did a bit of promo art for a Boondock Saints comic / Motion Comic.
I'm also working on a MARVEL oneshot with Jonathan Hickman called "Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu #1".
